The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial reporting activities. This includes maintaining the company’s financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP, managing the general ledger, and preparing for audits. The Controller will work closely with the VP of Finance and other senior leadership to provide financial insights and recommendations that drive the company's strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Lead the preparation and coordination of the annual audit process.
  • Implement and maintain robust financial controls and processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting to support decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and manage audit requests.
  • Continuously improve accounting processes and systems.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA required.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, preferably with a mix of public accounting and industry experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience with financial reporting.
  • Proven experience managing audits, preferably in a startup environment.
  • Experience in the SaaS industry is highly preferred.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
