We’re building OpenHands, an open source AI agent that can code, run commands, and integrate into real developer workflows. As one of our early engineers, you’ll tackle some of the hardest problems in making AI development tools fast, reliable, and a joy to use. You will help define our architecture, scale our systems, and shape a product already being used by developers around the world.

All Hands AI is the company behind OpenHands (formerly OpenDevin), an open source LLM-powered software agent that can write code, run commands, browse the web, and solve real issues from start to finish. Our open source community is active and growing. This role is your chance to shape the future of AI-powered development alongside a small, highly skilled team.

As an early team member, you’ll have the freedom to take big swings and the support of a small, experienced team that works like the best open-source projects. We are collaborative, transparent, and fast-moving, and you will have real ownership over the work you ship.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and ship features for both our open source project and SaaS product
• Collaborate with product, design, and other engineers to deliver high-quality, user-focused solutions
• Own projects from idea to production, including architecture, implementation, testing, and deployment
• Debug complex issues across systems and deliver fixes that stick
• Help guide technical direction and engineering best practices as we grow
• Work with technologies like React, Python, PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, and Google Cloud

What You Bring

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Ability to operate independently and make sound technical decisions
• Experience building and shipping production-grade systems
• Interest in AI/LLM-powered developer tools and open source software
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
