Where You Fit

We are searching for a highly motivated Laboratory Clerk to assist in the Histology Laboratory reporting to the Laboratory Manager at the Diagnostics Division. The ideal candidate is someone who is self-motivated, organized, a team player and is excited about being a part of a fast-paced and rapidly growing company shaping the category of AI-powered pathology.

Hourly rate: $14.00

What You’ll Do

• Pick-up slides cut by the histology technicians in an orderly and timely fashion
• Place slides in slide trays and match them up with requisitions
• Separate and promptly deliver slides to the pathologists for sign-out
• Pick-up blocks from embedding cold plates, remove blocks from molds, and melt paraffin from blocks to prepare for HTs. Place matching slides with blocks, including any special stains that are needed
• Assist in pulling the blocks for special stains and re-cuts and deliver to the appropriate tech for cutting
• Assist in entering special stains and re-cuts into the computer accurately and logging them appropriately
• Clean and change solutions at the end of the day on automated stainers and cover slippers, as well as daily set-up at the beginning of the work day
• Communicate with pathologists and customer service regarding case status, resolve discrepancies, etc.
• Perform other duties as requested by the lab supervisor or manager as deemed appropriate

What You Bring

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1+ year(s) of work experience preferred
• Relevant diagnostics laboratory product knowledge is valued but not required
• Self-motivated, organized, able to multi-task in a dynamic environment
• Must have positive internal customer service attitude and be a team player
