About Us:
Over one third of apparel produced is never sold: Topologic’s mission is to eliminate this disastrous overproduction and waste by producing exactly to demand, close to home. We remain in relative stealth.
To do that, we’re reinventing the stack of apparel fabrication, from CAD/CAM software to novel intelligent machines. We are attacking a massive $2T industry and have secured millions in contracts with leading producers: we proved earlier this summer that our technology works in the lab, and are preparing to go to market at the end of the year. We are backed with $10m from leading VCs and CAD insiders (SolidWorks, Onshape).
Responsibilities:
Principal system ownership of sophisticated motion controls for many-DoF mechanisms
Maintenance and development of an in-house control system built for high velocity iteration
Development of extremely high-reliability and high-speed machines that will enter revenue service in the next year in leading factories in Europe and the US.
Designing, implementing, testing and documenting complex, software-defined robotic processes
Supporting mechanical, electrical, and process engineers, as well as external customers
Collaborating with industry experts to ensure our systems meet customers needs
Requirements
Substantial experience as a robotics or control engineer, owning and principally designing complex systems.
Substantial experience with low-level programming languages (Rust, C++), microcontrollers, or RTOS.
Expertise in designing and building complex systems and applications
Experience implementing algorithms and data structures in a low-level language like Rust or C++
Excitement for occasional travel, mostly in the EU and US

Relevant experience as a mechatronics engineer:
Exposure to industry standard communication protocols (e.g. CANOpen, Ethercat)
Development and ownership of complex embedded systems
Experience with motion control for a variety of actuator types (e.g. brushed and brushless DC motors, stepper motors, and/or pneumatics)
Experience as a technical lead
Academic training in computer science, machine learning, controls, or mathematics
-
Complementary industry experience:
Machine vision
Web development
Graphics programming
Electronics prototyping
Mechanical design
